Please join me in welcoming the Spirit of Christmas Stitching Santa! I've been wanting to design Spirit Santas FOREVER and evidently, forever is finally over because here's the very first of his kind. I hope you like him. I had so many "squee" moments when I was drawing and stitching him. Santa is a VIP in my life, not only because my darling husband has begun to resemble him but because my most wonderful Grandad Lee WAS Santa during my young years. So, my connection to the man is, shall we say, strong.
Santa was stitched with DMC floss, Memory Threads, Kreinik #8 Fine Braids & 1/8" ribbon (Although it's used for only two little bows so you could sub any tiny red ribbon.) and Mill Hill seed beads on 14 count Antique Brown and White perforated paper. The stitched pieces were cut out, tacked with floss or attached with tacky glue to create a dimensional Santa measuring approximately 5" x 8".
Can you tell...I had too much fun with that mustache. That's made out of DMC White Memory Thread. Did you notice the little mousie in the redwork and the Cardinal pin cushion?
On to more Santas...Next one on the list was requested by my son, Daniel...I'll give some hints...it's the Spirit of "W....." Santa. This Santa will be late for a very important date...Mmm...
