Shhh...Top Secret

Don't tell anyone...but "Elf In The Box" is done and on her way down to Birmingham as I write this. Not sure if I'm allowed to show this since it's for the July issue of "Just Cross Stitch". What the hec...I'm throwing caution to the wind and sharing. 

Man! I am NOT a finisher. The finish on this thing is HORRIBLE...and I'm not being self deprecating. I really mean it. I learned an important lesson today. The finish can make or break a design. I've always admired talented finishers like Mona Bost but now I REALLY admire them. Finishing...Not my strong suit. I hope the folks at JCS can cover up my silly edges.

P.S. - For those of you who don't know me, I'm joking about the "top secretness" of "Elf In The Box". Forgive my weird sense of humor.

Someone wrote to me recently and asked if I would share more of my "designing life" on this blog. My life is crammed so full of life that I usually don't carve out time to take photos of my work in progress. But I'd like to do better at that. So, in that spirit...Here is something I probably have no business showing anyone right now. LOL! Presenting: Elf In The Box...A Christmas ornament for Just Cross Stitch magazine's July issue. She'll have stitched charms on perforated paper strung out across a garland in front of the box. Familiar design idea, anyone?
