Gwendolyn The Great

So strange to be working on Gwendolyn the day before Easter but fall deadlines are all this month so it can't be helped. I LOVE Halloween stitching and have had a trio of little witchies flying around in my head for awhile. This is the first...Gwen The Great. Her mop of red hair cracks me up. She's smaller than the big angels and fairies...A good size for hanging on a Halloween tree. These will be released as Brooke's Books charts and chart packs as soon as they're done.

All you have to do is join the group and then download to your hearts content. I've been designing these monthly "Birthday Cakes" since last June so there's just one left before the year long collection is complete.

Finished "Stitchy Claus"

 

Finished and on his way to Birmingham today...He will be published in the Just Cross Stitch 2009 Holiday Ornaments edition. What an honor! When does that usually come out? July? Not sure.

Stitchy Claus & Micro Ice Chenille

 

 

Well, I'm back at it. This is "Stitchy Claus". I'm designing him for Just Cross Stitch magazine's annual ornament issue. He's a work in progress...I'm using a new Kreinik product called Micro Ice Chenille on him. It's really pretty. You can't really do counted work with it but it's great for long straight stitches and couching for sparkling effects. One of the best things about being a needlework designer is the full access I have to gorgeous materials. By the way...Santa DOES have a mouth, hair, and mustache. I just haven't stitched them yet. I'll try to take more photos as he progresses.
